This typewriter cloth represents a technical achievement by the new generation of an established, family-run textile mill in Hamamatsu, Japan. With 160 yarns in the weft and 198 in the warp, this fabric requires the use of an older wooden shuttle loom, chosen for its gentler handling of the fibre. Supima cotton, selected for its extra-long staple fibres, gives the cloth a fine, papery texture that rustles and crunches with movement, while the density of the weave ensures remarkable strength.
