Founded in Paris in 2019 by Andreas Steiner a South Tyrolean native and alumnus of Prada, Miu Miu and Louis Vuitton, Rier reinvents alpine mountain clothing with a decontextualised elegance. The brand name is his mother's maiden name, an intimate anchor to his origins. Each piece, from the Walker coat inspired by a 500-year-old traditional garment to the 100% natural wool fleece free of microplastics, is crafted by a network of family-run artisans in Austria and Italy. A 2021 LVMH Prize semi-finalist, Rier embodies a new definition of luxury: functional, durable and deeply rooted in a place.
