The Tanker series, launched in 1983, has become synonymous with Porter. Inspired by the US Air Force MA-1 flight jacket, it is built on an original three-layer fabric: nylon twill on the surface, polyester cotton as the middle layer and nylon taffeta on the reverse. This construction gives the bag its characteristic lightness and supple hand feel. For this new generation, Porter has adopted a 100% plant-based nylon, the world's first such material to be successfully mass-produced. The vivid orange interior lining, inherited from the military rescue colour code, remains the visual signature of the range.
