Just a few years ago, running for several days with all your gear was an expedition in itself. Today, a new generation of equipment is changing the way we think about the mountains and WISE's 555 is a good illustration of that.

More than just a new bag, the 555 embodies WISE's new identity: Born Free. A vision of trail running no longer limited to performance or the clock, but one that invites you to rediscover a form of freedom: the freedom to go far, for a long time, without depending on a fixed starting point or a scheduled return. Running becomes a way of traveling.
Run further, stay out longer.
The 555 is designed for those who want to move beyond the classic format of a few-hour outing. Its volume, organization, and stability let you carry the gear needed for several days of roaming while keeping real running comfort.
Every detail solves a concrete problem: easy access to your gear, balanced weight distribution, limiting bag movement on technical sections, and keeping a natural stride despite several kilos on your back.
Once loaded, the 555 quickly makes you forget its volume. The sense of fluidity it offers is rare for a bag built for fastpacking.

That sensation comes down to precise construction choices. With its 24 liters, the 555 relies on a compartmentalized architecture that spreads the load evenly instead of letting it sit as one heavy block. Side wings pull the load in against the runner's center of gravity, preventing any bounce even with a tent, sleeping bag, and stove on board. Five flask pockets designed for access on the move, a dedicated waterproof pocket for personal items, and bi-stretch technical fabrics that move with your stride — nothing is left to chance. It's this sum of details that turns a simple storage volume into a real carrying system.
Two days in the Chartreuse to put it to the test.
With the team, we had the chance to discover the 555 on its home turf.
For two days, we set off roaming through the Chartreuse massif with the WISE teams and Arthur Vaillant, as part of his Pacerelle project, a collaborative format built simply around eating well in the mountains: meeting local producers, sourcing good products, and cooking outdoors with whatever we found along the way.

The 555 quickly disappeared from our minds. Stable on committing terrain, accessible for grabbing a jacket or some food, comfortable enough to string together hours of movement, it naturally fits this hybrid practice between trail running and fast hiking.
More than a gear test, a collective experience.
This weekend wasn't just a chance to discover a new product.
Around Arthur's project, the WISE teams, and chefs Paul and Noemi, this adventure quickly became a moment of sharing.
Because this practice of roaming isn't just about racking up kilometers. It also invites you to slow down when needed, cook together, sleep outdoors, and set off again at sunrise.
That's probably what WISE's Born Free signature captures best: a new way of running.
Trail running is evolving.

More and more people are looking to extend their outings, link valleys together, cross massifs, sleep in a refuge or under a light tent before setting off again the next day. Gear is following that evolution, and the 555 is a good demonstration of it.
It's not simply a bigger bag. It's equipment designed to make possible another way of experiencing the mountains: freer, more self-sufficient, more immersive.
After two days on the trails of the Chartreuse, one thing is certain: the 555 makes you want to keep moving forward, and to stop seeing a trail outing as a simple loop, but as the start of a journey.
