HISTORIC MANUFACTURE

For their shoes, Paraboot recovers the remains of skins from French slaughterhouses. All their designs are made from full grain leather, that is hide’s first layer, known as the sturdiest.

For each model, specific cut-outs are created. The leather pieces are meticulously assembled by hand, each station has its own task: from cutting to polishing, gluing and Goodyear or Norwegian sewing.

In total, more than 150 operations are necessary to make a pair of Paraboot.

UNIQUE KNOW-HOW

Paraboot is the world leader in Norwegian construction and has been using Goodyear construction for over a century.

These two sewing methods are based on connecting the shoe's upper with the intermediary sole and the outsole via a strong strap of leather called the welt.
Today, these techniques are still the ones chosen for all their designs.

Each production’s step requires a specific know-how, sometimes not widely used in the sector. Paraboot works to keep this know-how alive by training their teams on site.
