The Blucher With Kiltie Camp Sole carries forward the tradition of the formalised American moccasin, popularised during the 1950s and 1960s. Each pair is entirely handcrafted in Yuketen's workshop in Maine. The full-grain flesh-out leather is sourced from Opera Leather, a Tuscan tannery established in the 1970s and specialising in flesh-out leathers. This process involves flipping full-grain leather so that the flesh side faces outward, delivering the velvety appearance of suede while retaining the structure, thickness and durability of full-grain leather. The smooth grain side rests against the skin, eliminating the need for additional lining. Vegetable-tanned leather insoles, paired with leather tucks reinforced with a steel shank, gradually mould to the foot's shape for a personalised fit.
