Amélie takes the train to visit her grandmother. It's the first time she's traveled alone. Torn between excitement and fear, Amélie wears her trademark red hat and a whistle around her neck. But when the train stops in the Forest of Tomatoes, she gets lost and no one hears her whistle.  Desperate, in a downpour, she arrives at a little house where Grand-Mère Corbeau takes her under her wing and invites her to share a giant dish of tomato spaghetti. Yes, she's stumbled upon the Cannerie de la Forêt! But the adventure doesn't end there, and she has several unusual encounters before finally finding her place on the train...
