Designed by Dutch architect Jan de Jong as his private residence and workplace, the Huis Jan de Jong in Schaijk is a true example of the Bossche school of architecture and has remained an icon of 20th-century residential modernism in the Netherlands since its completion in the late 1960s.This modest masterpiece, built in 1962-1967, is based on the work and theory of monk-architect Dom Hans van der Laan.

In this book, the house and its workshop come to life through the refined qualities of light and natural shade, brought to life by architectural photographer Kim Zwarts. Caroline Voet and Hilde de Haan have also written an essay describing the house in its historical and stylistic context.
