Founded in 1982 by Barry Schwartz in Norristown, Pennsylvania, Camber USA is a family business virtually unknown to the general public, yet cult status among those in the know for its heavyweight workwear-inspired sweatshirts and t-shirts. Its flagship pieces, notably the Cross-Knit, a 12 oz 90% cotton fleece, have been made in the same factory for over forty years, with unchanged patterns, five dedicated machines and around ten assembly steps. Annual production: approximately 200,000 pieces, made to order only. With revenues of barely $5 million and zero marketing budget, Camber has built its reputation on the strength of its products alone, known for their exceptional durability and their ability to improve with age.
