Amber Kiso draws inspiration from a ritual in the sacred Kiso forest in Japan. This composition evokes the ceremonial katana unguent of rare woods, temple incense, and leather bushi armor. Japanese forests contain numerous trees with wood that is sacred in traditional religious ceremonies. Hinoki wood, renowned for its strength, has been used for centuries to build temples, Noh theaters, and baths. Sawara cypress, with its lemon scent, grows wild on the islands of Kyushu and Honshu. Asahi Zuru maple, an ancient variety native to Japan with ornate pink, white, and green leaves, takes its name from the expression "swan at dawn."
