In this 17th paper volume, we wanted to talk theory and rehabilitate the profound culture of the outdoors.
Why do we do this? Because over the years, we've come to realise that theory is an aspect that is often neglected in our outdoor activities. The reason is simple: the word theory conjures up images of safety rules to be followed, constraints and lengthy training courses. 
Yet it would be unwise to reduce outdoor knowledge to its safety aspect. Nature has so much more to offer those who know how to decipher it. Knowing the names of the peaks that surround us, the history behind them or how to explain natural phenomena greatly expands our field of vision. It's what makes our adventures so special.
